Established in 1974, Gland Chemicals manufactures specialised bio-chemicals.
Over the last four decades, the company has also diversified into synthetic molecules by developing innovative
technologies for muscle relaxants and life-saving anti-cancer drugs.
Mr PVN Raju founded Gland Chemicals in 1974. Thinking far ahead of his time, he pioneered Heparin technology in India in 1960. He also promoted Low Molecular Weight Heparins (LMWHs) and set up India’s first state-of-the-art LMWH Pre-Filled Syringe facility.
He is a past President of Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), as well as a Member of IPA, Parenteral Drug Association (USA) and International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering.
Mr PVN Raju is also a large-hearted philanthropist and is actively engaged in community service.
Dr Ravi Penmetsa obtained his MBBS degree from Osmania University, Hyderabad, and a Science of Medicine degree from East Carolina University School of Medicine, USA. After completing his internship, he engaged in hospital-based practice in the USA for seven years, before taking up his responsibilities at Gland Chemicals. He is a Member of the International Leadership Forum (ILF) and the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), a global society of healthcare technology professionals.
Mr Nakul Penmetsa leads the company’s international business development function, including strategic alliances for sourcing and supplies. He has been instrumental in obtaining several Regulatory approvals and expanding the company’s global footprint.
Mr B Nagamalleswara Rao, M.Com., MBA (Finance), has been associated with Gland Chemicals for the last 27 years. He is responsible for the company’s Financial Operations, Business Development, Marketing and Plant Administration. He has played a significant role in the rapid growth of the company, making it a well-acclaimed partner of choice for many pharmaceutical majors worldwide.
